Getting started
1
Get a free API key
Anthropic Console (free credits on signup) or OpenRouter (free-tier models available). Either works — pick one in the connect bar.
2
Paste it in
Top of the Tool page. It stays in this tab’s memory only — never written to disk, never sent to us, gone when you close the tab.
3
Name your field
Be specific — "behavioral economics", not "social science". This calibrates which literature the sparring partner reaches for.
4
State your provocation
Your post-experiential bias, stated at maximum force. Already have a framework or draft? Use "Jump to Stress-Test" or "Jump to Peer Review" instead of starting from zero.
5
Work the stages
Each stage has a minimum-exchange gate and a question you must answer before advancing — see the Method page for what each of the 9 stages tests.
6
Export when done
The Export button covers Markdown, Plain Text, Google Docs, LaTeX, BibTeX, RIS, and a CRediT contribution statement — every text format includes a SHA-256 hash so you (or anyone you send it to) can later confirm it wasn’t edited.
Troubleshooting
"OpenRouter free tier credit limit reached"Add credits at openrouter.ai, switch to the Anthropic provider (top of the connect bar), or wait for your free daily credits to reset.
"Error: ... Check your API key and try again"Usually means the key is invalid, revoked, or pasted with extra whitespace. Disconnect (✕ in the connected pill) and paste it again.
My session disappeared after closing the tabIt should auto-restore from localStorage on this same browser, same device. It won’t follow you to a different browser or device — save it as a named project first (Projects → Save current) if you need that.
